DFDS will grow in cold chain with
HSF
Logistics Group.
When the acquisition of HFS Group, one of the leading companies in
European cold chain transportation, is finalized, DFDS is expected to quadruple
its cold chain business and create the leading cold chain logistics provider in
Northern Europe. Agreed to purchase Logistics Group in a deal worth DKr 2.2
billion ($ 358.8 million).
he firm stated that it has made a debt-free acquisition through a newly
established, wholly-owned subsidiary, which will create northern Europe's
leading cold chain logistics provider.
The HSF Logistics group is a family business and employs 1,800 people
specializing in serving meat producers and other food producers operating in
controlled temperature supply chains.
The company stated that, after the acquisition, it will give DFDS 700 trucks
operating at 22 locations and 1,700 reefers.
The addition of the HSF Logistics Group to existing activities means its
geographic scope expands to the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Germany, and Southern
Europe, as well as China and Morocco. Also, meat logistics will be added to the
DFDS's aquaculture/seafood and general food logistics expertise.
The agreement, pending regulatory approval, is expected to be completed in about
three months.
