The US regulator is increasing
pressure on
ocean liners.
The regulator expanded the scope of its truth-finding mission to
detention and dismissal to investigate carriers operating in alliances and
searching in Long Beach, Los Angeles, and New York / New Jersey.
“It's time to resolve the most serious obstacles to port performance,” said
Commissioner Rebecca Dye. I would like to thank my Commissioner fellows for
their support of the Actual Finding 29 Supplement Order for focusing the
investigation on the extreme conditions in Los Angeles, Long Beach, and New York
/ New Jersey Ports. Emir emphasizes that as an information gatherer, I have all
the sanction options to address the crisis that exists in our major port
crossings. "
"Removing barriers to port performance allows the growth and development of
ocean liners, ports and sea terminals, cargo truckers, American importers and
exporters, and all other businesses dealing with freight delivery," Ms. Dye
said.
Commissioner Dan Maffei said the investigation into practices in the country's
three main ports has contributed to congestion and injustice and could violate
US law.
“As empty containers are prioritized for the more profitable transpacific lane,
fewer containers are available on the other lanes,” said Container xChange.
"This capacity shortage contributed to the increase in the rates from Asia to
Northern Europe by 30% in November to $ 2,772 per feu, up to 86% year-on-year."
